I’ve been put in a time out

Wondering where I’ve been? Well, I kinda, sorta, possibly over did it. (And yes, if you have sent me an email in the last few weeks, I have it and will write you back, promise!) I have an eye infection in both eyes. Cause? The doc is thinking it’s a combination of allergies and over use of the computer. So, I’ve been put in a time out. I’m not to be on the computer for a few more days. Or, until my eyes are no longer the color of red hots. I swore I’d only be on today for five minutes. My only comment to this is that I wish once, just once, I could be told I am not allowed to clean….or that the medication prescribed is going to cause ‘extreme sexiness.’

ME vs THE JIGGLE Day 01. Aaaaand we’re off!

Today my super tornado cleaning skills and yard work will be my work out for the day. After which, I will do my 100 crunches and light weight arm workout. I’ll start weighing in weekly on Mondays. I don’t have a workout plan for the weekends, but I’m hoping just little hikes to the beach and back could count as something. The kids are home now, so we will see what can be done together. :)

Me vs THE JIGGLE (& Sinus Infection) DAY 5

This would have been posted Friday, but that would mean that the sinus infection, rude doctors office, ER visit and coming home to a house without power wouldn’t have happened.

The day just started off bad.  I woke up with my head throbbing, shooting pains going across my face and down my jaw and neck. I felt like crap.  I have had a headache for over two weeks at this point.  I thought it was just allergies.  I kept putting it of only to wake up that morning thinking my head would explode.  I got the kids off to school and decided I had worked too hard to stop my exercise routine.  So, I put on my shoes and took my curvaceous chocolate Lab, Seanna with me to the bus stop.  Kay and Zach were off to school and we took a short walk together.  It was beautiful, but every time my left foot hit the pavement, my head felt like my heart was beating inside it.  Owe.  I went home to call my doctor to schedule and appointment, and that’s when it all started to get worse.  Continue reading

ME vs THE JIGGLE – DAY 1

Good Morning Washington!

I really don’t know how many times I have started working out only to make up some fabulous excuses (If I do say so myself) to quit.  Well, maybe not quit…just not continue for a bit.  Normally every deployment meant a new workout commitment.  The Husband would deploy and I was on it!  Then month two or three came around and the lack of sleep, overwhelming schedule, and emotional eating (<—see, I told you there were fabulous excuses! ) made working out just another thing I *should* be doing, but could easily live without it.

Now that the Husband is on Shore Duty, I’m finding it really hard to come up with excuses.  So, today is DAY 1. I went for a walk/run down to the beach and back. Going down to the beach is fun because it is all down hill.  I ran the entire thing. Coming back up was another story.  I came to the conclusion that I don’t like hills.  The only way I can see ever having a positive relationship with them is if they turn my butt from a jiggling mess into sculpted hotness. Heeerrreeee Motivation…motivation…motivation

I told myself that this week was the week I started working out.  Again. I don’t know how many times I have gone through this cycle. I got into great shape after having my two children, but they are now going to be 9 and 12. Huh. It doesn’t feel like it was THAT long ago.

I stayed in shape until I hurt my knee in 2005, which started a crazy cycle of being in shape, then gaining 20+ lbs over and over. I had three surgeries, each two years apart. It sucked. My last Surgery was at the end of 2009 and even though I have terrible arthritis in that knee, there are no more excuses. Trust me, I’ve tried to make new ones up. My most recent “excuse” was moving cross-country.  I had gotten within ten pounds of my goal before the move and now that I am here in the beautiful and very in shape Pacific Northwest, I have gained 10 lbs back. Go Figure.  Continue reading
